Another $2,000 From Uncle Andy.

Prof. Sanders has just reoeived another letter from Andrew Carnegie. in refej-enoe to the extra $2,000 he has been asked for, to cover the ex ra cost of the library bu lding and furnishing, In the letter it is stated that Mr. Carnegie will have no objeotion to add $2,000 more to the SIO,OOO already received provided the Council will guarantee a corresponding inoreaee in the annual fund for the library support. Inasmuch as we are already levying a library tax that produces sl,200 per year which would the needed sum when the extra $2,000 is reoeived, then there is no reason why the necessary guarantee sbou’d not be given and the $2,000 palled in. If this is done, the library fittings and furni’ure can be ordered at oace, and the buildiag ocorpied ia five or six weeks.
