THE BANKRUPTCY MEETING
At the resumed meeting to < x amine the bankrupts iu the McCoy cases, the firs’ objeot seemed to be to establish the faot that in 1894 T. J. McCoy gave notes, secured b/ mortgages, to oover his then existing over-drafts at the bank E. L. Hollingsworth, tie then cashier, A. R Hopkins, the bockkeeper and A. McCoy and Tcm were all examit el. Tnre» Dotes were given in February 1894, of SB,OOO eaoh, and were carried as assets cf the bark. Mr. Hollingswoith testified as to the notes being given, and ihat they were secured by mortgages o 1 Tom’s Jordan land, but he oould not identify the land now. Hi does not know what became of the notes and mortgages. Mr Hopkins rem'inhered about the notes ar.d mortgages and that Tom limself kept the notes in his private box in the bmk vault Uoole Mao said, and no doubt truthfully, that he knew nothing about Tom’s indebtedness to the bank, nor did he have anything to do with the notes and accounts of the bank. Tom admitted that the enteries in the register wer« true, and that he had then given the three notes of his then debt to the bank. He said he never gave a mortgage to secure the notes, saying one was drawn but he refused to sign it. He said the notes w.ie kept with the other securities of the bank, and he did net know what beoame of them. Regarding the old Stock Farm matter, and about which Trustee Chapman hBS filed a suit for $27, 000, Tom sail W, A, Rinehart made the settlement with Delos Thompson Tom also said that Unde Mac’s overdraft should be credited wi*h $36,000 derived from the sale of the Hangidg Grnv6 lard.
