Pay For Soldiers

Some time ago it was noted that an effort was being made to have Congress pass an aot instructing the aooonnting officer to allow the claim of the One Hundred and Bixty-first regiment and the two ooloied regiments for extra pay. Congress to aot and it is now thought the matter can be allowed by the Court of Claims without waitiag for the aotion of Congress. The amount involved is between $40,000 and $50,000. and is of interest to members of Capt. Guthrie's oompany from Montioello which included a big delegation from Rensselaer and Remington If the Court of Claims makes the award the matter will probably ba adjusted inside the next three months.
