The Game and Fish Laws.

As Readjusted by the New Criminal Code. Many inquiries frd being made as to what the legislature did with the fish and gjme laws, Below is a synopsis of the laws on this subject as signed by Gov. Hauly last week; GAME LAWS.

Shooting of wild deer, wild turkeys and pheasants absolutely pro hibited Penary SSO to S2OO, Shooting of quail, ruffed grouse, prairie chicken or pinnated grouse, from Jan 1 to Nov, 10, prohibited; fine, $lO for each bird killed. Number of quail to be killed in any one day between Nov. 10 and Jan. 1 limited to 24 to each person hunting Sale of quails absolutel - prohibited.

Shooting of wild ducks, brant or other water fowl from a naphtha electric or steam launch between April 15 and Sept. 1 prohibi ed; fine $lO for each bird killed, Number of ducks to be killed in any one day between Sept 1 and April 15 limited to twenty-four. Shoot ng of squirrels between Jan. 1 and Aug. 1 prohibited; fine $lO for each squirrel shot. Collection of birds, their n sts and eggs for scientific purposes allowed, upon permit from the commissioners of game and fisheries.

Hunters must secure consent of owners of land before going on it to bunt; fine $lO to $25. Hunting of any and all kinds of game, except wild duck and other water fo* 1, between Oct. 1 and Nov 10, prohibited; fine $5 to SSO. Hunters going outside their respective townships to hunt must secure a license to do so from the Commissioners of Game and Fisheries/ In all cases of conviction the Fish, and Game Commissioner shall receive a fee of S2O FI H LAWS. Possession of seine, d'p net, gil net, pond net, spear, gig or trap prohibited except to such persons as have them for the purpose of o thing fish in Lake Michigan, the Ohio River and the Wabash River, in so far as it forms the boundary between Indiana and Illinois; fine, $5 to S2OO to which may be added imprisonment in the county jail for any determinate period. Closed season for all varieties of fish in inland lakes March 20 to May 15; fine for violation, 15 for each fish caught and $lO to $25 for each attempt to catch fish during the closed season. Provided that this law does not prevent any person from catch ing fish with hook and line in any streams and ponds in the State at any time, t Fishing through the ice is permitted but with not more than two linos. Fishing from “shanties” is prohibited and the shipping of game fi'ih out of the state is prohibited, Shooting of fish prohibited; fine $5 to SSO, to which may be added imprisonment not to exceed thirty days No person shall catch more than twenty bass in a single day; with two or more person fishing from the same boat the number is limited to thirty six. Dynamiting of the streams of the state, except for mining or mechanical purposes, is prohibited; fine $250 to SI,OOO. .
