Hanging Grove Gravel Roads.

—At last it seems p obible that the long pending gravel ro.d system in Harging Grove is now in a fair way to be oonstruc’ed. H- Stewart & Sin, of Kokomo, submitted a bid that was under the estimate and tie or mmissioners informed them it w.s accepted. Ti,e ro-xds to be built are to cc mp'ete a system already partly built by ths township trustees and aggregate 6.59 miles in length. The amount of their bid was $14,641, or practically $2 221 per mile and a'so includes the grading. There was no other bid submitted the'ooal contracting firm of Smith & Co. holding that the roads could not be profitab'y constructed within the estimate. The Stewart bid was $250 bslow the estimate. The successful bidders asked unit next day to draw up a contract and to prepa’e a bond in the sum of SIO,OOO guaranteeing th-i faithful performance of their c intraot.
