Potter and Fowler, of Lafayette have inform'd Trustee Chapman that they are * all in” so far as bids for the McCov lands are concerned. Their first hid they say was for es much as they c- red to pav so- th-3 land. Therefore there is no change in the situation as formcr'y given. Thus thi bulk of the lend stands sold to Wm. Hill, so far as the trustee can fe'l it. but BU*'j-ot tn the approval of the referee. And the Lafayette parties bid raises Hill about $2,L00 and J-ck Es-o-i’s raises theirs about SI,BOO more. All tl e bids together with the o< ntn ct with the Hills will be submitted to the referee when he corms down lex Saturday, and the whole queet'on will be up to him to decide. The referee has as jet,announced no decision on the knotty but important law points invo ved. The principal one being v het her or not the creditors of the individual bankrupts must or must not be paid in full before the creditors of ;he firm, that is of the bank proier, can coma in for anything. If his point is decided adversely co the bank creditors they can con aider themselves fortuntte if they get 25 c-ntr on the do'lar on their deposits.
