Lenten Rules Issued.

Bishop Alerding, cf the Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne, has issued the annual regulations for the guidance of the faithful during Lent. As usual, special dispensations are made to the toilers upon whom certain deprivations would invoke hardships. The proc’amation is as follows. 1, Ash Wednesday falls on the Bth of March. 2. All the days of Lent are fast'ng except the Sundays. 3 All persons who have completed their 21 year, unless legitimately dispensed, are obliged to keep the fast Custom allows a cup of coffee, tea, or ohocolat , with a small piece of bread to be taken in the morning. 4. By dispensation, the use of flesh meat is allowed at the principal meal on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thurs days and Saturdays, except the Saturday in Ember week and the Saturday in Holy week 5. The use of fleh and flesh mea, is not allowed at the same me al during Lent 6. All under 21 years of age, those who are engaged in hard work, the sick and convalescent, and persons who cannot fast without serious injury to health, are exempt from the fast. 7. The time of fullfillng the Paschal duty is in this diccese ftom the first Sunday in Lent to Trinity Sunday,
