A Remington Man Suicides.
Barney Hopkins, a painter and paper hanger, about 45 yeais old and who has lived in Remington' the past four or five years, committed suicide Wednesday evening, by jumping into the Wabash river, at Pittsburg, near Delphi. Two boys saw him jump in the river but were so frightened they said nothing about it until some other parties found his clothing and other property on the bridge he jumped from. With his clothing he left a note which read As follows: “My name is Barney Hopkine, I am out of work and money. Make a note of this and send" to the Remington Press and Milford World ” Hopkins is not known to have any relatives that take any interest in him. He has always drank a good deal since living at Remington, and also ran a gambling place there for a while. The Wabash is very high now and there is little probability of his body being recovered for several weeks yet.
