A Bigger Bid For Jordan Land.
Even sinoe the day after Trustee Chapman contracted the sale of 1,880 acres of the McCoy Jordan laud to Wm. Hill he has been in communication with Cecil Fowler aud his attorney Wm, S, Potter, of Lafayette. They olaimed they wanted to bid on the land but forgot the day o' the sale. Mr. Chapman told them he had contracted the land to Mr. Hill bat the sale was subject to the approval of Referee Bowers, and that he would submit to him any bids they might make, in proper form. As a result such a bid was received oa.Thuisday morning. It is for all the Jordan land, includthe 1,880 acres contracted to Hill and the 235 acres bid for by Carr Brothers, It aggregates about one dollar per acre, or $2,200 in all. more than the oombined bids of Hill and the Carrs, Mr, Chapman will refer the bids to the Referee.
