Wants the Whipping Post.

Editor Geiger of the Ohuiubueco Truth, in his way, expresses more truth than poetry in the fo’lowing: The whipping post bill is dead, it was killed Monday in the state house at Indianapolis. No one expeoted it to paes-our legislature isn’t built that way. They would much rather pass a bill making it legal fur a drui ken galoot to lick bis wife. It would make no difference to them whea the licking took place, either. If it was some fool law forbidding the killing of rabbits before breakfast the bill would have gone through with a whoop Bud hurrah-but anything that has a semblance of curtailing the rights of a man to chase himself up to seme barrel houee, get as druuk as Sam Hill Bnd then go home and whale his poor, meek, loDg suffering wife like blazes, is entirely too Puritanical to suit.
