DEATH OF REV DR CISSED.
Dr. J. H.ffCissel, D. D, for many ) ears one of the very most prominent ministers of the Northwest Indiana Conference of the M E. Churohdied Bunday, Febv 19th, at 12 45 p. m. at his heme in LiPorte. The immediate cause of hie death wrs fatly degeneration of the irterifs, and his condition had been hopeless for weeks. His decline has lasted for some years,, starting with a stroke o paralysis He whs born in Marion Oa, Ohio, July 9„b, 1810, and moved to Recsselaer with his jarents, when about six years old, and was brought up here. When about 16 he wa3 converted at a camp-meet-ing at Lyou’e mill, near Brook, and at once began to prepare for the ministry, and which he entered while still very young, his first regular station beirg at Maxinkuckee when only 21 years old. During his 42 years of active minhtry, be was presiding elder of LaPorte district cne terns, (Jrawfordevide district one term andLafajette distric| two terms; and served as the leading churches ts the conference, such as at LaPoite, Sc uth Bend, Lafayette, Greencastle and Michigan City. He was marri,d twice first to Mi s Martha Ti rr, who died in 1808 and later to'Mies Margaret White* who survives him. He also leaves three eons, oue brother and two sisters. Mrs. Wm Powers of onr city, is his sister in-law, by ber first mirrisge aud hereon Fred is his nephew.
