HELD UP BY FOOT PAD.
Chi?B. Rogers, while going from Shelby to Water Valley Thursday evening was held up by a foot pad about seven o’olock. The robber pointed a revolver at Rogers’ head and demanded his money, Instead of complying Rogers grappled with the foot pad and was shot through the hand. Rogers then, at the point of the revolver gave up what money he had, $45, and the robber left him and boarded a north bound freight wh : ch was standing on the traok ready to pull out, and escaped. Word was immediately sent to Lowe'l and Hammond but the robber was not apprthended. Charh s Rogers is the son of Brofesscr George E. Rogers, principal of tho Thayer schools. He is a successful Alaska gold miner and came home this winter on a visit with his parents 8t Shelby. The rebber secured about $45 io money besides some other valuable pocket pieoes Rogers describes his assailant as being a man about five feet eight tcches in height, heavy set weight about 175 to 180 pounds, smooth foil faoe with rather large flat nose, age 25 to 30.
