Of . this increase $5,000,000 is for rural delivery. ! James D. Yeomans of lowa was appointed interstate commerce commissioner to serve until Senator Cockrell’s term in tlie Senate expires. The House committee on merchant marine and fisheries authorized a favorable report on the shipping bill reported to'Congress by the merchant marine commission. Senator Fairbanks, after conference with Secretary Hay on subject of Canadian reciprocity, announced that question of reassembling the joint high commission will be considered after prorogation of the Canadian parliament.
