A NERVY ACT IN UNION.
A few day ago Will Holte, of of Kniman, met with a severe acoident and at the same time performed an act requiring a very large amount of personal grit. He was going to shred corn at M< Faylor’s house, in Union Tp. He was running the traction engine, and the wheals slipped at the bottom of a hill and the piston oanght on the center. He got off to start the eagine, having fn'l steam on, and when the eugiue started, it was so fast that \fr Holla was oanght b etween it and a fence post. One of the bones of his leg was broken near the ankle and the foot badly crashed, at the
toes. In the meantime the engine moving off .of itself at considerable speed and headed straight towards Mr. Faylor’s house, with no < ne but Holle to stop it. To spite of his injuries he git up, ran after caught np witb and stopped the engine, before it reached the house Had he not done so the h *avy eagine would have pretty neany wreoked the whole building.
