Where Is August Vos?

August Vos, a resident of the extreme east end of Jordan township, iemissing and some considerable anxiety is being evinced by bis friends as to what has become of him. He walked to town on Thursday Jan. 12tb, which was an toy time. He visited one or two saloons, and got some beer and a lunch, but did not get drank. He also called at Irwin & Irwin’s office and paid $l3O on a S2OO debt and said he wonld be in the following Saturday and pay the balance. Along towards 3.30 he was seen going towards the depot, and that is the last time he has been seen in Jasper county by anyone who knows him. No reason has developed'why he should go away in tula unexpected manner, farther than that he may have been worried by his financial affairs, wbioh appear to have been pretty badly tangled, as a res nit of his having bonght a farm in Dakota a while back, and giving ts alleged a mortgage on his farm in Jordan which was already heavily mortgaged, and later selling this Jordan farm to neighbors who, as stated were not imformed of the mortgages Vos i 3 about 45 years old and has a wife and several children. S line of these are quite young, bat one of them, a daughter, is old enough that a son of Unole Joe Nesins has been shining np to her considerable, and it is tbi9 prospective son-in.i aw who is taking the lead in trying to locate the missing man.
