The Goodland Herald published a statement from Fred Gilman, with neither plane nor date giver, addressed to the creditors of the basted Home Bank. He denies that betook aw«y any money or papers belonging to the bank or depositors, or that he misappropriated or squandered any of their money. All his troubles he asserts, came from over-confidence in men he had known and trusted for years. Fred’s sole oojsot now he says, is to find some business that would enable him to pay every dollar he owes He thinks he has found snob a proposition and that if ** unmolested” be can in a reasonable time, pay every creditor in fall It will probably strike a good many people, that openings where men with neither oapital, good financial reputations, nor any remarkable am >unt of ability, can make a couple hundred thousands or «o jnst as easy as findiag it, are not layiag aroand wlwe men of Fred’s oeliber can piok them up. just whenever be feels like it. Probably the best thing to do with Fred is to pat him where his future tabors will not do any harm whether they d much good or not. And where he oonld count on remaining “unmolested” as he remarks “Unmolested” forsooth! There, no donbt is the meat m thatooooannt
