Death of Gen Reub Williams,
Gen. Reuben Williams editor of the Northern ladianian and Daily Newe, at Wersaw, died their last Saturday aud as stated as the result of exposure while returning from the inauguration of Gov. Hanly. He was 73 years of age and bad edited the Northern ladianian for fifty years, being one of the oldest editers in the state. He was a general during the oivil war and was one of the commission which tried the “Indiana conspirators” in Indianapolis, He was held held oaptive in Libby prison for months and at the olose of the war commanded the firsta regiment to pass the president’s reviewing stand, at Washington. Our townsmen, Capt. J, M. Wassou was in Libby at tbe same time as Williams, and remembers seeing him there, bnt never bad any special acquaintance with him.
