PEARL WANTED TO SEE CHARLEY.
An incident of the Donahue case is being told Dy Sheriff Daugherty’s friends these days to says the Hammond News, The day of bis capture, Mr. Daugherty received a telegram from Chicago which read: “Charles Daugherty, Crown Point. I must see you at once in Chicago. PEARL.” Mr. Daugherty was not at home when it was received and the family wondered what Pearl wanted and who the brazen thing was. When Charley came home e telegram was handed him and he laughingly said; “Oh that’s from Pearl.” "Yes we know it’s fiom Pearl, but who is Pearl?” was the answer. “Why it is from Deputy Sheriff Pearl with news of Donahue,” said Mr. Daugherty.

His age was 37 and her’s 20, and it is the first marriage for both. Both give Remington as their post-office, but groom has been four years in the army, including the period of the Spanish war; and the bride has been formerly a resident of Rensselaer, He gives his occupation as a farmer* The wedding was an entirely private affair.
