Hammond has deoided to p,iss an anti spitting ordinance, and ths measure, whioh has been reported favorably, will become a law at the next oonnoil meeting. It is made a misdemean >r, pnnishable.by arrest and fine, for any person to spit on the street or in any opera house. The oonnoil may provide onspidora at street oorners for the benefit of tobacco ohewers.
