Breskiu enjoyed an excellent patronage from the women of Hammond nntil he was overcome by the beauty of one of his young woman customers and kissed her in his store. He was beaten by the young woman’s father, arrested and fined. Women refused to patronize his store and his trade fell off until he was forced into bankruptcy.
