DEATH OF BERT BROOKE

Bert Brooke, a former well respected young man in Rensselaer died in Lamar, Colorado. Deo 17, 1904, of consumption. Many of his friends here remembar when he first took down with <th dreaded disease in the summer of 1903 and started out on quest of a climate that would benefit him. He went first into the north of Wisconsin but got no benefit there and moved to Mitcbei 8. D, with no better results, From there he went to Hamilton Co., Kans., and reoeived snob marked benefit there that he decided to go a little farther west to Lamar, Colo. He improved rapidly after arriving the?# and recovered so far that he was able to do 1 hard d«ys labor and worked hard all through the summer of 1904. But on O on. Bth he commenced to fail and gradually sunk till the end. He was born in Jasper County, Ind., Ang. 27 1878, thus being 26 years. 3 months, and 20 days old. He leaves 3 sisters and 2 brothers. The three sisters and one brother reside in Ind. One br ther, Dorset, was with him when he died. He was an honest, nprit bt and industrious young man as many of his Renese'aer friends can test fy, and always made warm friends wherever be went. The funeral was held iu t r e first Baptist ohurch in Lamar, the Baptist minister, Rev. Magrud r, officiating. Interment was in the Lamar Cemetery.
