A COURT HOUSE AT KENTLAND.

At last it seems certain that Newton oonnty is to have adeoent and eervioable court house. The county council met at Kentlanc Saturday, in speoial called session and appropriated $25,000 for a new oonrt house. It is expected that the commissioners will make the â–¡eoessary orders, and advertiee for bids at onoe.

This will pot an end to tbe long and acrimonious oounty seat fight in onr nearest neighboring oonnty fora generation at least. But the comparatively small snm appropriated seems to indicate that the looation of the oonnty seat ie not considered permanently established at Kentland, or else a mnoh better building would be provided for. And very likely, in 25 or 30 years, when tne north half of tbe oounty is ae populous as the south half, or nearly so, the matter will oome up again. The same oounty oouuoil also appropriated SI,OOO to investigate the books of the county.
