OBITUARY
Isaac Judson Pjrter, wbb born Feb. 18, 1844, in Orange 00., ltd ; died Deo 12. 1904 in Rensselaer, Ind.agrd 60 years, 9 months 24 days. He cam 3 to this ocuaty when 4 years of age and has sicca redded in this vicinity. He was united in mar iage to AMia Wiley, Deo. 29, 1870 This Union hns been blessed of God with 4 children. The eldest daughter Gnoe, died in infancy, aad tte second, Rena, when ten y f a sos age. The third Glenn, now Mrs. Bert Brenner, of this oity, end the only b)d, Boyd, who fur some time has teen associated with bis father in business, are with ns today. For about 13 years he has been engaged in business in th ; s oity. The esteem in which he was held by the business men was manse.-t by the voluntary closing of a'l the business houses, at the hour of the funeral, About the winter of 66 he ecoepted Christ as his Savior, and wa9 baptised int) the fellowship of the Missionary Baptist church by Elder D. J Huston. He has since been a fa thfull servant of Christ. A great deal of the time he has been a Sunday School teaofeer T atd at the time of his death was a trustee and deacon in the church. He wa9 also an honored member cf the K. of P. lodge. Thus it is evident that the city has lost a useful citizen, the business men ao esteemed associate, the Fraterni y a rospected brother, tte church a beloved and highly esteemed member and official, and

The youngest Bruci is jast closing his 8 h year of faithful service, in the office of Connty Recorder.
Of his surviving 6is'ers, Mrs. Sarah Watson, Mrs. Serah Watson Mts, Jennie Wishard, and Mr*. Ella Kresler, ts Rensselaer, and and Mrs, E iza Jjbnson, ot Wibonville, Neb , were present at the fnueral while Mrs Mary Mayhew, of Red Bluff, Cali was not ab'e to be b 3 htro. Thus a large circle of fri ends, his business associates, his lodge, his paetor apd brethern an 1 sisters iu the churoh, his two brothers, five sisers and other relatives, his loving and dutiful son and d u . liter and hm faithful and loving companion, feel an acbii-g void, that this earth can never fill.
