CORN AND POULTRY SHOW
The recent oorn and poultry show here was not nearly what it should have been in extent of exhibits. Evidently longer notice mast be given and more direct personal effort be made, if these shows are to be continued and made a success. If a room could be secured on the business street where the oorn exhibits could be displayed as nooumukted for several weeks in advance, it would greatly stimulate the interest iu that feature of the show. The following were the prises awarded. Yellow Oorn. Wm. Augspurgei of Newton tp. Ist. Jos Putts of Marion. 2nd, Victor Yeoman of Union, 3rd. White Corn. John Kolhoff of Murion, let. Orrin NoYman of Union, 2id, J. E. Alter of Union 3rd. Mixed Corn. Victor Yeoman of Union, Ist. There was also quite a display of poultry, the judges awarded premiums as folllow6: E. F. Pullins, Ist and 2nd on Tom, Ist and 2ad on hen, Mammoth Bronze turkeys; and Ist on oook, 2nd on hen; Barred Plymouth Rooks, 2nd on cockerel, 2id on pullet; Indian Came, let ocok, Ist hen;’ B. D. Comer, let oookerel Barred Plymouth Rock; 2nd ou ocok. Ist hen; Ist cockerel. J. L. Baboook of Parr won 2ud on Barred Plymouth Rook pullet, 3rd, 4th and sth hen. He also won 3rd on cook, 3rd and 4th on hen in Bronze turkeys. Comer won l.t and 2od cockerel let and 2nd hen on White Holland turkeys. A dairy exhibit by Mrs. Comer well deserved a prize had any been offered in that line.
