FIGURING ON A FOUR TOWNSHIP SCHOOL.

A conference was held Tuesday by tbe trustees of Carpenter, Jordan and Milioy townships, Jasper oonnty, and Trnatee of Prinoeton township. White oonnty aoooriding to the Woloott Enterprise, to consider the petition of oitizenß of the townships named residing near the point where tbe said townships corner, asking that a joint sobcol bn ldiog be ereoted to be maintained by eaob. Under present conditions there are twentyeeven children of sohool age who are deprived of sohool advantages or mast be transported to and from other districts at township expens* that in the aggregate amounts to quite a sum—more than that of keeping np a sohoo’, and the majority of the children are too yonng to be sent away to the town sohool thereby osing tbe home aud parental inluence that they should have. To build a sohooi house the first cost will p obably be not more than S2OO for eaoh township, after which tbe townships would pay eaoh in proportion to the number of pupils sent.
