J 0 Shaffer, publisher of the Cuioego Evening Post, has purchased the Indiaaapolie Star, and the Terre Haute Star aod Muncie Star These are the only morning papers published in tbe cities nam el and their combined circulation is larger thin that of all the other morning papers in tbe state cf Indiana Tbe papeis wi'l be independent in politics, but will support the present national administration. The consideration for tbe three “Stars” paid to MoCullock. the former owner, in cash, bonds and preferred stc ok was SBOO,OOO. In addition the purchaser assumes the $200,000 outstanding bonds issued for the purchase of Indianapolis Journal, and certain other liabilities amounting to $50,000, making the total purchase price for the three properties $1,050,000,
