INDIANA DEATHS IN AUGUST. Mortality statistioa ieaued by ( the State B.ard of Health for tbe month of August show that there were 2.960 deaths in that mouth, or a rate of 13 2. Ia August, 1903 the death rate was 13.7, the rate for August of this year showing a decrease of .5 Thera w« re were 303 death from consumption, wuioh was 44 more than was oaused by this disease in Angnst of la6t year. Typhoid fever oansed 100 deaths; diarrheal diseases, 473; oanoer, 103; smallpox, 3. There were 175 deaths from violenoe. The northern pait of Indiana showed the larger percentage of deaths* The lowest death rate was in Benton oonnty, where the rate was 31. Lawrence oounty, with a death rate of 23 9, had the highe st rate. Consamption invaded 300 homes in Indiana, caused 214 children to beoome orphans, among whom 165 were under twelve years old, many of whom will fall under public oare. THE DANCING SEASON.
