AVERAGE OCTOBER TEMPERATURES.
The following data in regard to October have been complied by the Indiana Weather Burea from records covering the last thirtythree years: The average temperature was 55; highest temperature, 87; October 1, 1884, and October 3, 1900; lowest temperature, 22, October 30, 1887, and October 30, 1895, The warmest October of the thirty- three years was in 1900, with an average of 63, and the coldest was in 1888. with an average of 48. The average date when the first killing frost fell during the thirty-three years was October 19. In addition to this data the department has just issued itc summary for last month It shows That the highest temperature for last month was 87, on the 11th; the lowest 46, on the 21st; the greatest daily range 28 degrees, on the 13th, and the least daily range 9 degrees, on the 25th. The average temperature for the month was 67, which was the same as for the corresponding month of the proceeding year, and the same as the the average for September for the last thirty-four year.
