DEATH OF ELLIS WALTON.
In the death of Ellie Walton which occured night, Oot, 7th, at,B o’clock another of Rensselaer and Jasper county’s old residents, has passed fro a the scenes he has known so long. He had been slowly losing his strength for some time, bat was confined to his bed not quite five weeks. He was oom in Williamsport, Pa., Aug. 12, 1820, and his age at death was 84 years, 1 month a«id 25 days. He was married to 8 p' lia Oherry, in Caledonia, Oh'o in 1843, and by her had six daughter’s, tii ree only of whom are now living, namely Mrs- Lottie George of Rensselaer, at whose home he died; Mrs. Mary Jouvenat, of Chicago and Mrs. Fannie Teagardeu, of Mineola, Tex. His wife has been dead about 35 years. He has been a constant resident of Jasper county for about 56 years, most of the time in Rensselaer, and for a great many years living in a house at the corner of Harrison and Cullen street, which was torn down last year. After the death of his youngest daughter, Miss Libbie Walton, a few years ago, who had been his housekeeper for mu ly years, he lived with his wide wed daughter Mrs. George, H. < -cupation for many years was ths . f a drayman and bus driver; and ne was an industrous and honest citizen, The funeral was held Sunday ' at 2 o’clock p. m. at the residence on north Van Rersselaer street, and conducted by Revs. H. L. Kindig and A. G. Work.
