September Weather Record.
September was a mighty fine month, take it clear through, and . a giod month for growth of" vegetation, for ripening of corn, and foi plowing and sowing, far future orops. And the grass in pastures and meadows, grew like in the exuberance of the springtime. Sunshine was freely on tap for all who wanted it, and just half of the days were recorded as clear, 8 as partly clear and only 7 as as wholly cloudy. And even the cloudiest days mostly had a few rifts of sunshine breaking through the clouds. Still it was neither so warm nor so sunny as September of last year. There was more rain than actually needed, namely 3.65 inches. It came in seven different storms, on the largest of which, oa the 26th, there was 90 of an inch. Five of the seven rains were thunder storms. The two warmest days were 84 degrees on the Ist and 83 degrees on the 28th. The coldest was 40 degrees, on the 21st.
