COURTED A MALE BY MAIL.
James Perryman of LaPorte read the advertisement of "Mrs. E, O. Franks” of Bayonne, N. J. to the effect that she would share a fortune of $70,000 with the man she could learn to love. He then courted the supposed widow by mail and she promised to, marry him. He forwarded her money with which to come Io that city to have the ceremony solemnized. That was the last heard of Mrs. Franks who proves to be a man. The swindler is in ths custody of the federal authorities. Investigation develop the fact that Franks had several score of victims in Indiana, from each of whom he obtained a contribution.
