THE POSTMASTERS’ CONVENTION
The 10th diatriot postmasters’ fineshed there two days convention at Monticello, Tuesday. The attendance was stated to be the smallest of any ever held, and the fact is explained by the remoteness of Monticello from most of the towns in the district. Lafayette was selected for the next place of meeting. Jasper county had four representatives, which was more than any other county had. They were W. E. Peek, of Remington, F. B. Meyer, of Rensselaer, J. 0. Thompson of Fair Oaks and J. L. Tyler, of DeMotte. Officers elected for the next year, were: President A. H. Leist of Michigan City, vice president Geo. W. Van Alstine, of Monticello, secretary, W, E Peck, of Remington, treasurer, 0. W. Btyner, Montmorenci. Parker does framing.
