PEPPLE OF MICHIGAN CITY.

The Democratic congressional convention at Monon, Thursday afternoon, gave poor Nelse Bczarth another double cross after ill. They nominated ae their congressional candidate Hon. Worth M. Pepple, of Mbhigan City, and at present a representative in t'ie state legislature. The convention is said to have been “large and enthusiastic” but the enthusiasm must have been acquired rather than natural. t The candidaoy of Nelson J. Bozarth and ‘.Joseph Conroy jdid not receive muoh strength from throughout the district, The choice is regarded as a victory for chairman Feulknor of Michigan City and incidentally a nice piece ; of personal politics on the part of | National chairman Taggart. La- j Porte is the only doubtful county in the tenth district and by the selection of a Laporte county can-' didate the chances for the Democratic ticket is materially streng thened. If the oounty is oarried it will mean added strength for Taggart in his efforts to secure a United S‘ates senatorsuip.
