Professor Hiatt Has Resigned

Prof. W. O. Hiatt, for sever.l years past principal of the Rens high sohool.'and re elected to that position for another year, has beea offered a similar position in the Frankfort high souool, and the school board here has consented to release him. Tuis they have done because of the policy, wisest and best in the long run, of not standingin the way of the advano meat of their teHohersin their profession, although very loath to lose his valuable services, at any time, and especially, so near totheopeaing of the schools for another year. Tne salary Mr. Hiatt will receive at Frankfort is considerab ly better than our sohool is able to pay and is to be still larger after the first year. His resignation comes at a time which is likely to oause considerable difficulty in finding a suitable successor by the time our srhoo. re-opens, and more especially as the course of study has all been m ide up and th 9 positions of the teaohers all assigned. Mi. Hiatt was to have taught Latin and Physics, and therefore in selecting his successor it will be necessary to find a teacher well qualified in those branches as also well fitted for the prinoipalship.
