BIG JOB IS BEGUN.

The big task of four-tracking the right-of-way of the Chiopgo and Western Indiana, theMonon’s entranoe into Chicago, was begun at State Line west of Hammond Friday morning. Two giant machines do the|bulk of the work and in this way the company escapes the odium of employing cheap ’ Italian labor. One maohice excavates and the other levels. Their capaoity is IGO oar loads per day. The oompany expects to have the four traoks laid and ballasted from State Line to Hegewisoh before snow flies.
