The Republican patry propos.s to change t- riSE shedules *hen necessary. The Ddmocrats want to experiment wiih tha people's prosper ity.
Arguments are now being presented to show that Candidate Davis has a chance to live and retain Lis mental and physical vigor for more than four years. Still it is not .necessary to take shances.
No fault should be found with the Democrats for claiming that they are going to carry mo=>t of the States in the Union. They enjoy Such claims atd no one else is hurt by them.
Democrats are afraid of President Roosevelt's foreign policy but they are forced to admit that it has been brilliant and creditable and they know that the American people appreciate this fact.
The roll call of former Democratio newspapers that are coming to the ■Support of presidenn Roosevelt be oause they believe in his anti.trust policy is the best answer to t! e Democratic conteention that the trusts are in control of the republican party.
■Wherever the Republican and Democratic "platforms clash in contentions tne argument, logio, oon. •latency and points ’that appeal to the great common sense of the Amer. jean people rest j with the Republiplatform.
Quotations From Republican Campaign Text-Book. 1904.
•We who have been entrusted with power as public servants during the past seven years of administration and legislation cow come before the people content to be judged by our record of achievement.” — President Roosevelt’s speech accepting 1904 nomination, 4 Under present day conditions it is as necessary to have corporations in the business world as it is to have organizations — unions— among wacre- workers. We have a right to ask in each case only this; that good, and not harm, shall follow.” Presi d nt Roosevelt at Providence, R. T„ August 23, 1902,
‘•The construot’on of the canal is now an as ured fa'c; but rucst certainly it is unwise to entrust the cirry'ng out of so u omentous a policy to those who havs endeavored to defeat the whole undertaking.” President Roosevelt’s speech acocp fincr 1904 nomination n
“ I would rather have my boys aught to think the finest thing in life is the honesty and-frankfless,- tl e truth and loyalty, the honor ard the devotion to his country cf Theodcre Roosevelt than to have them in possession of all the wealth in the great metropolis.” Hon, Elihi Root, at New York. Feb. 3. 1904 •*Above all tie administration of the government, the enforcement cf the law must be fair and honest. The laws are net to be administered either in the inten st of the poor man or the interest of the rich man. They a r e simply to be administered justly,”. President R oseveit at Charleston, 8 C.. April 9, 1902
Democratic demand to share the glory of Republican achievement is like a man returning from an eight years’ loafing trip aacf asking to share the reward of h’s friends who stayed at home and worked.
