Burglars Caught But Not Arrested.
There wss a bouse breaking sensation across the river Friday evening. When iE. L. Hollingsworth, cashier of the Ist National! Bank, returned to his houße which 1 in the absenoe of the family is! closed exoept when be is there; himself, he was warned by thei neighboring women not to go into 1 the house and tfeat'there were some, strange men in it, whom they had I plainly heard. ! <©ffioer Vick was hastily called by*-telephone, and informed that there were robbers at work in the house, he grabbed his weaponsjand made a record run over to the place. On the way he met Harry Wood, in a state bordering on panio, who him to redouble hie speed- Arriving he found Mr. Hollingsworth standing guard outside, armid with ateingle-sbct but quiok reloading base ball bat. An effective weapon at dose range, but not accurate at long distances. Offioer Vick pushed boldly in, and guided by sounds soon discovered and surprised the burglars at there enfarious work. It developed that they were Ralph Donnelly and Louie Ramp, two well known young carpenters who were there doing work ordered by .Mr. Hollingsworth. ■ He had agreed to leave a door unlocked •for them, but had forgotten to do so. They found a window whioh •they could open, made their entrance by a ladder and then opened a door from the inside, and oalinly proceeded to do the work that they had been engaged tu do.
