The oonnfv commissioners dosed up their August session. Wednesday. The business of considering claims and signing up county ditoh bonds ooonpied the greater part of the session. The various treasurers of the different school towns of the county made their settlements. T J. McCoy, and G. K. Hollingsworth, for Rensselaer, Robert Parker, for Remington and E. T. Biggs, for Wheatfield. The application of Robert Sheets to b? appointed to a sohojarship at Purdue was continued. Continued also the matter of of building a Jasper county cottage at the state soldiers home at Lafayette. The contract For coal for the county was let to the Viotoria Coal Company. Namely 250 tons, at these prices. For run of mine coal, $2.40 per ton, for screened lump or egg nut, $2.60 per ton, all on board oars at Rensselaer. And order waa made requiring property owners along the UnionLakin ditoh to cut the willows out of the ditoh within 30 days, under penalty of having it done by order of the surveyor, at the property owners’ expense.
