Dan Patch the world’s paoing king, and the illustrious sire of Ike Glazebrook’s Happy-New Year filly, is now most comfortably esoonoed in barn G, at tho State fair grounds. The Indiana atmosphere in which he was bred and received his early training, seems quite soothing to the sensational performer, and in the morning when he was taken out for a jog by Trainer jHersey, he shows none the worse for wear after his journey from Savage, Minn. He arrivtd there Saturday afternoon. Indianapolis is to witness the opening of the great side wheeler’H campaign for the 1904 season. He will go against his mark of 1:56 1 4, at the Fair ground track, on Thursda> Aug 11. The exhibition will be a thorough test of the great performer’s ability, as neither dust nor wind shields will be used. He will have company in Cobb Webb, his running mate. Already this season, in the backward weather, at Savage, Dan has stepped in 2:04, and with a a week’s work here he will be in excellent shape to start for his record.
