The Mitchell Powder A Great Invention.

Newton, Of the Montioello Evening Journal, with George Palmer and James Mitchell, of that place, and Frank Bending, of Brookston, all members of the Tippecanoe powder Company, were in the city today for the purpose of testing and demonstrating the qualities of their invention as a blasting force. Several charges were exploded at the lime kilns north of the city and the result was most satisfactory. Many different tests have been made with the powder, but this was the first stone test. It has been demonstrated that this powder is more foroeful than any other ever manufactured, and besides it is absolutely smokeless.
