Some Storm Damage.

Daring thunder storm Wednesday evening lightning struck James Payne’s house, northeast of the railroad depot It struck the chimney damaging it some, and also tore most of the plastering off in an upstairs room and setting fire to some window curtains which were burned before the family could get up stairs to put the fire out. The lightning left the house by way of the telephone [wires. The damage was not very great. The loss is covered by insurance in J. 0. Porter’s agency,| Daring the same storm the lightning struck and killed a good cow, belonging to Isaac Saidla, some 5 or 6 miles southeast of town She was in a pasture, hot over 75 yards from the house. Other cattle were near by, but were not hurt. The'cow was insured in J. F, Bruner’s agency.
