The City Council.

The marshal and street committee were directed to confer with certain property owners on Clark street, out in Austin & Paxton’s addition, who have not yet built the sidewalks ordered last year. Fire Chief Hopkins reported Charley Robinson and Fred Parcells as absent so long as to lose their membership; and R. W. Spriggs, as resigned, to move away. Mont Burk was taken in as a new member of the company. The Weston cemetery trustees reported a lot sold to Wm, M, Hoover for SIOO and another to Mrs. 0. E. Mills for SSO and a fractional lot to Mrs, Elizabeth Shields for sls, J. H. Perkins and others ask for a sidewalk on the north side of Grace street from Mr, Perkins’ residence io sidewalks already constructed. Referred to street committee.

The ordinance granting a franchise for toll stations to the Remington Telephone Co., Dr. Besser, proprietor, was passed to the second reading. In reference to the cement sidewalks on Callen street reported to be too low and under water in wet weather, the council voted ?i a general permission for property owners to raise their walks if they would also raise the money, The electric light committee was direct’d to*see about the sale of the old unused dynamo, at the light station, for which an offer has been received. Some 31 miscellaneous claims were considered and allowed.
