More About The Rosebud Land Drawing.
From a later and more authentic statement of the drawing of the Rosebud lands, we learn that the drawing will begin Thursday, July 28tb, aad be pushed right along, and probably be completed in three days. The entire number of registrations was 106,000 and some odd, and the number of homesteads is 2.600, thus giving each person practically just one chance in 41 of drawing a farm. After the drawing is over the lucky persons will be notified and they must then go to Bonesteel to select and file on their land. The filing will begin the Bth of August and 100 claims will be entered every day, The land to be allotted is in South Dakota, adjoins the Nebraska line on the south and the Missouri river on the east. C. J. Dean who has just visited it, says it is the finest grass land he has seen in the western country.
