Schafer Grand Jury Dismissed.

The special grand jury that has been investigating the Sarah Schafer murder, at Bedford, was dismissed Saturday, by Judge Wilson, without having made any report. All sorts of rumors have been appearing, especially in the Indianapolis papers, of the great discoveries just about to be made, hut evidently without any foundation in fact. The next rumor now is that the relatives of Miss Schafer, at Elkhart, will now start an independent enquiry, which will finally end in placing the murderer on the gallows." We hope it may, hut have mighty little faith that it will. In fact, we are now, more than ever disposed to believe that the guilty man is now forever out of reach of the law, though having once, been tried and found not guilty, by the jury, This view also, as we have lately but reliaby been informed, is the opinion of the able jurist who presided at the trial. That Judge Wilson believes James McDonald committed the murder, we have very direct and reliable information.
