Monon Track Elevation Delayed.
Chicago Tribune. Elevation of the tracks of the Chicago and Western Indiana Railroad north of fiftj’-fourth street has been postponed for another year, and possibly for two years, by reaof a difference between the company and the city authorities over the number of traoks that shall cross Garfield boulevard. The city's agents insist that no more than eight traoks shall be constructed ever the boulevard, while the railroad o?r----poration desires at least sixteen traoks. Olfioersof the railroad, using this right of way.ohim that, if the city insists' that no more than eight tracks shall cross the boulevard, it would render useless the big yards of the Erie and the Monon roads running from fifty-first routh to fifty-fifth street. The Western Indiana right of way at this point is used prinoipally by the Erie, Monon and Eastern Illinois railroads. The' tracks of the Western Indiana Company are now eleyated to a point just north of fifty.fifth street boulevard.
