Rural Router’s Strict Rules.

Ratal mail carriers are now pro. hibited from soliciting business or taking orders of any kind for anyene mast not Carry merchandise for hire, except that they may carry merchandise for hire for and upon the request of patrons residing upon their routes when the same shall not inter, sere with their offi :ial duties. The pay for carrying such merchandise for hire must be paid by the patron for whom the service is performed. Carriers are not permitted to receive any compensation from the seller of such merchandise. Carriers must not engage in any other business daring the described hours of service, or conduot any business after hours which offers the temptation to solicit patronage for their route. Canvassing, soliciting insurance, selling sewing machines, etc., is prohibited. They are also prohibit ted from soliciting, directly or indireotly, by any method whatever, money, gifts or presents, nor furnish the names and addresses of patrons of their routes for pay or favor, to any business establishment, or to any individual, except department officials entitled to same. These new rules went into effect July 1 1904.
