Indianapolis Journal Is Dead.

The Indianapolis Journal and the Indianapolis Morning Star are now one, and the Star is that one. The grand old Journal for fiftyfour years the bulwark of Indiana Republicanism, and of high toned, conservative journalism, is no more. George F. McCullough publisher of the Star has bought the Journal, and as*a separate paper ends with the issue of last Wednesday June 8 th, 1904. This last issue was No. 160 of Volume Fiftyfour. It is now incorporated with the Star, and that paper’s name will ne changed to the "Star and Journal." But it will be all Star and no Journal in everything bat name, for McCullough has found his newsaper methods too successful to be abandoned or materially modified. And the Star will be a great newspaper and a staunch Republican, but for all that we grieve to think that the Indianapolis Journal will visit us no more.
