The Schafer Grand Jury Adjourned.
The ending of the term of court st Bedford, caneed the adjournof the special grand jury that was investigating the Sarah Schafer murder case. As the jury asked that they be recalled to continue the investigation, it is reasdnably assumed that they believe they are in pursuit of valuable clues, which may result in an indictment. It seems that the theory now being worked on is ihat a prominent business man of Bedford Killed Miss Schafer, because he knew she was in possession of a letter given her by another young lady, just as the latter was leaving to visit a female physician in Indianapolis, and which letter was only to be opened in case “something happened” to the other young lady. This letter, it is claimed, would have ruined the standing of this business man, and hence the supposed motive for killing Mies Schafer, to obtain it. A not very probable theory, but still possibly the true one. Judge Wilson acceded to the requst of the grand jury to be permitted to continue their investigations, and adjourned their session until July 11th.
