Roads for Alaska.

The American government has just takeu the first step toward the constinotion of military roads in Alaska. Upon tlie urgent recommendation of the War Department Congress has appropriated $25,000 for a survey and estimate of cost of a wagon road from Valdez to Fort Egbert, and an additional $25,00(1 for surveying and locating a military trail between the Yukon river and Coldfoot, on the Koyukuk river.
