The May Weather Record
The month of May just ended, did nothing very eeneational or unusual in the weather line, though on the whole was colder and more backward than the average.* It was a rather rainy month,; there being rains of considerable magnitude on 9 different days- The total rainfall was 3.14 inches. Ths biggest single rain was on the 29th and 30tb, with 1.11 inches. There were thunder storms on the 6th, 9th and 23rd. The one on the 23rd broke the county record for killing live stock.
The warmest weather, was 88 degrees, on the 25th, and ths coldest 32 degrees on the 16th. There was was a bard frost on the date last named. "Bright smiling May” wasn’t any too bright and this time, there being only 10days classed as dear, 13 partly cloudy, and 8 wholly cloudy.
